Tracking the Fitness of Your Brain Using Keywise AI

Keywise Co-founder Alex Leow presented on her “Aha” moment of tracking brain function at TEDxChicago. Leow, an Associate Professor in Psychiatry and Bioengineering at UIC, noticed that while practicing the piano, her performance quality was linked to mood and concentration. Following this train of thought, she realized that like the piano keys, cellphone keyboard interaction might provide insight on mood and mental health.

KeyWise AI builds software that turns smartphones into Fitness Trackers for the Brain. For the first time, passive, continuous, and objective measures of brain function are now possible.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world.
